James David Maslow was born on July 16,1990 in New York, New York and was raised in La Jolla, California. He began training for singing at age 6 when his parents signed him up for choir. He attended 5 different schools including 2 elementary schools and the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts.
At age 10, he recieved a small role in the San Diego Opera performance of La Boheme. At age 14 he had his first agent and starred as Danny Zuko in his high school production of Grease. Halfway through grade 10 he dropped out of Creative and Performing Arts and switched to Coronado School of the Arts. Maslow's television debut was on the season 2 premiere of iCarly as Shane, a boy who Sam and Carly were fighting over. He also has a new movie called Master's Tree that is set for a 2011 release. The movie relvolves around several foster children (led by Maslow's character) who runaway from their home in Mississippi to Memphis.
